submitted a memorandum to the Ministry of Labour
National Garment
Workers Federation (NGWF) and the leaders of four unions urged the Government
to take immediate demands of the above all.
Before submitted
a memorandum to the minister of labor today 21st September, at
morning 11 am in-front of national press club this is stated.

Kamrul Ahsan, Executive President of the National Workers Federation, General
Secretary Ms Safia Parvin, Central leader Md. Faruk khan, Ms. Arifa Akter, Md.
Kabir Hossen, Md. Rafiq, Nasima Akter, Md. Faridul Islam, Md. Kashem &
leaders of three factory unions with four jobs declined workers.
Spoke solidarity
in this program: General secretary Mr. Kutubuddin Ahmed of IndustriAll
Bangladesh Council (IBC) & central leader Bodruddoza Nizam, Salauddin
Sapon, Hedayetul Islam, Shahidullah Badal & Kamrul Hasan.
They alleged, in
these factories owners misdemeanor recently we have brought in front of
Government. They knows to Government stop misdemeanor of these four factory
owners and knows to give workers rights to live in peace with their job. They
remind these four factories these are,
1. Virtual Knitwear Ltd, the name of union is Virtual Knitwear Ltd Workers
Union, Reg: Dhaka 4978, factory workers are 500 hundred, total members of union
is 249. This factory is situated is Gazipur. It is under the National Garments
Workers Federation (NGWF). This union was registered in 15/9/2014 by register
of trade union (Joint Director of Labour). On the other hand 11/9/2016 Sunday the
owner of this factory announced Eid vacation in that night they noticed poster
on the wall the factory closed indefinitely. We have learned from trusted sources
that reasons of being union registration the owner of this factory closed this
factory. Workers' compensation law-abiding did not pay dues. Note that, this
factory owner has also two factories (1. Virtual Knitwear and Leisurewear Ltd.
2. Virtual bottoms Ltd.) these two factories are as usual running.
3. Friends styles wear Ltd. This union was registered in 3/2/2014 by
register of trade union (Joint Director of Labour) Reg no. Dhaka-4853. In order
to destroy union the factory owner jobs deposed the union leaders. Workers'
compensation law-abiding did not pay dues. From last six months the owner
harassment workers by false case. The workers don’t get job in another factory
in this purpose he influenced other factory owners. 17 cases has against this factory
owner due to breaking rules by joint labour director.
4. All weather fashions Ltd: 52, Hazi Sahabuddin Complex (7th
floor), shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Sarani, Rasul bag, Mohakhali, Dhaka. There are
250 workers in this factory. The workers are working from long time in various
risky situations. Accord observed this factory, they said this factory is risky
and the owner of this factory said really risky of this factory. As this
factory was risky, Accord noticed them to close the factory form 2/5/2016 to
31/8/2016. After again Accord noticed 20/8/2016 to continue the factory but the
factory owner didn’t start repairing. As a result the workers suffer more and
they seem fear to go to work.
